Finally, marvel at the architectural splendor of the massive Alcobaca Monastery before returning to Fatima for the night.
Day 4: Fatima – Burgos, Spain This morning travel east across the border into Spain and continue to the city of Burgos, known as the cradle of the Castile region. The town stands on the banks of the Rio Arlazon near which the slender, elegant spires of its famous cathedral rise up to the deep blue sky. Visit the impressive Cathedral of Burgos, the third largest church in Spain, and then enjoy time exploring the quaint cobblestone streets of the old walled city.
Day 5: Burgos - Lourdes, France Today you will travel through the picturesque Pyrenees Mountains into France. The charming village of Lourdes is your destination for the day. It was here that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to the poor shepherd girl, Bernadette. For nearly 100 years this mountain town has been a pilgrimage site of world renown. Tonight you will have the opportunity to participate in the inspiring sunset candlelight procession.
Day 6: Lourdes Your morning walking tour of the village of Lourdes will include visits to the sites so closely associated with the life of St. Bernadette: Holy Hill, the local mill, the parish church, and the "Cachot", the chapel where she received Holy Communion. An afternoon of leisure will allow you to explore the rich historical and natural heritage of this quaint mountain village – a place where so many people from around the world have found solace and consolation.

Travel outside the city up into the mountains to a mountain abbey-fortress, the Monastery of Monserrat, to see the statue of the Black Madonna. Returning to your Barcelona hotel this evening, enjoy one last night of fellowship at a celebratory “farewell to Spain & Portugal dinner.”
